Every Purchase Helps People!

Around the same time I began my business in 2012, our family had the privilege of meeting Dr. Mosoka Fallah, a recent graduate from Harvard.  He shared with us his vision of building a clinic in the impoverished area he had grown up near Monrovia, Liberia called Chicken Soup Community.  He had purchased land with his own money and had begun building a clinic for mothers and babies.  The clinic had the walls up but needed funds to be completed.  I felt that this was something I should be a part of so decided that I would commit a portion of all proceeds to help medical missions and start with Refuge Place!  This began an unbelievable chain of events that linked us not only with Liberia but with a wonderful American family in China who also shared a burden for medical missions!  In 2014 Refuge Place opened it;s doors not only to help women and babies but many others who need healthcare.  Refuge Place offers it's services free so people travel from all over to get help.

When Ebola hit Liberia, Dr. Mosoka rose as a strong leader uniting the people of Liberia with those who had come to help, and they were able to stamp out Ebola.

In it's wake however there is much destruction and many children left orphaned.

In 2013 one of the things that money sent from Promise Pretzels helped with was a safe, family friendly Christmas party for the children in the clinic surrounding Refuge Place.  This past year, one of the exciting things we became part of was funding gift bags for 200 children left orphaned because of Ebola.  We are helping now with sending money to help care and educate these orphans.
